Guidelines – Celebrate Recovery Ministry
In Celebrate Recovery, we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and Higher Power. It is through Him that we will recover from our hurts, hang-ups, and habits. We also hold to these seven guidelines in our standard of conduct in this ministry:
1. Confidentiality
We maintain confidentiality at all times in all areas having to do with the group. We will keep from gossip and talking about anyone in this ministry.
2. Responsibility
We each take responsibility for our thoughts, feelings, behavior, and recovery. We speak only from our personal experience.
3. Acceptance
We offer one another the same unconditional love, acceptance, grace, and forgiveness that God has shown to us through Jesus Christ.
4. Respect
We treat one another with the utmost respect, and we value one another as individually and uniquely created by God. Each of us are deserving of being heard and understood.
5. Honesty
We are committed to rigorous honesty as a way of life and a fundamental principle in establishing and maintaining a healthy relationship with God, ourselves, and others.
6. Openness
We are determined to be open and willing to gain new awareness and insight from the experience, strength, and hope of others. We are willing to making positive and healthy changes in our attitudes and actions.
7. Encouragement
We seek to build up and affirm one another at all times, motivating one another to believe that positive change is possible, encouraging one another to persevere in new directions as God leads, and recognizing our victories as we overcome our hurts, hang-ups and habits to become new creations in Jesus Christ.
